How well do you really know your Yoga community?

Yoga is more than a fitness and wellbeing activity, it’s a way of life, a spiritual journey of self-discovery, discipline and personal fulfillment...

...or is it?....

Dropped into the bubble of the west coast American dream that is Southern California, share in British expat, Tina Scoley’s own journey of self-fulfillment through her local Hot Yoga community as she grapples with ridiculous temperatures, absurd poses and the infuriating nuances of so-called American English.

A collection of limerick verse, beautifully illustrated by the author, Limbericks is a wry observation of the characters, personalities and stereotypes that make Yoga such a rich part of the everyday lives of real people.

Limbericks will challenge the way you think about Yoga in a most delightful and uplifting fashion - it will either have you making a beeline for your local studio or heading for the hills.

Some reviews for Limbericks:

“Subject: Loved Limbericks

Message: Every page of Limbericks is entertaining. Klaus is so far my favorite character. I liked the picture of him immediately, and the writing about him depicts an aspect of yoga I try to remember at times as far as being focused and precise. Standing Head to Knee is a great pose for a guy like him. I like all the purple color you have in your character and throughout Limbericks. It was nice to learn of your having completed the teacher training, and to learn a little more about you in general from it. I loved to see so many poses and the beautiful attention given to them through Limbericks, and the similar experiences we share in the yoga community. I like the many mentions of British culture in various ways. I like how you put words together, phrasings, the poetry itself, and the jokes. I like the drawing style art. Haven't written my own limerick yet, but it's cool all the information about it, and how you can make your own if you want. - a very positive book.”

“Absolutely fantastic! I enjoyed each and every one of your Limbericks, crafty and cunning! The illustrations are perfectly paired, I found myself spending the most time digesting all the detail, going back to the ‘limberick” and then back to the illustrations. I’m glad you added a little context to each character, it helped reinforce the illustrations and add an extra layer of depth to the ‘limberick’.
PS Love all the Sci-Fi references!”

“These are just off the top thoughts and observations. Please share and consider however you like. First, I love the title and all the quirky puns.

I appreciate the story, humorous observations/tales, quirky perspective and approachability. It oozes personality and I really enjoy the puns, poking fun at what can sometimes seem like a pretentious inner circle. It's light and humorous, but clearly coming from an experienced & knowledgeable yogi.

Nice illustrations! They're fun and reminded me of the Garbage Pail Kids. Some of those characters can be gross and comical, but they similarly capitalize on stereotypes & generalizations.”
